Pastor Melvin Smith
is married to Mechelle Smith and is the founder of The Abiding Glory Tabernacle in Austin, TX. Pastor Smith is committed to seeing the Word of God taught and confirmed by the Holy Spirit. The mantle that rests on Pastor Melvin is to cause individuals to experience the glory of God by accessing His presence. He served over 21 years in the military before he retired. Traveling around the world through the military has given him a global perspective concerning people.
Pastor Smith holds a Doctorate of Divinity from St. Thomas Christian College. He has also received his Master of Arts in Clinical Pastoral Counseling and his Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies from The Minnesota Graduate School of Theology. He received a Diploma from the Antioch Bible School in Louisville, KY. Pastor Smith also completed the Certificates of Theology program from Oral Roberts University. He is also a graduate of Sonship School of the Firstborn. They have one daughter Sharia, four grandsons Dontae, Tay, Derrian, and Coreon and one granddaughter Christiana.
Pastor Mechelle Smith
is the wife of Melvin Smith, founder and Pastor of The Abiding Glory Tabernacle. Pastor Mechelle believes the Word of God is the foundation of life and that by pursuing the Lord you will understand, obtain, and walk in the destiny that God has ordained for you. Mechelle is a worshipper at heart and preaches a message that provokes individuals to tap into the presence of God. Mechelle delights in seeing God take the problems of people and turns them into their potential.
Mechelle received her Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies from The Minnesota Graduate School of Theology, a Doctorate of Divinity from St. Thomas Christian College, and is a graduate of Sonship School of the Firstborn. She also holds a Bachelors of Science in Accounting from Rochester Institute of Technology and a Master’s of Business Administration from Clark Atlanta University.
